Memorial Weekend

It was a timely visit to D.C. on a Memorial Weekend. There were a lot of events and parades going on to commemorate and remember men and women who died in military service. I have seen little children sport trophies and wore shirts with faces of their family members (and even parents) who sacrificed their lives for the country. While we were there to meet friends, I somehow felt the relevance of Memorial Weekend because of the festive feeling people shared.
